An
Everyday Look

Makeup.
Everyone has their different idea of beauty, but makeup is my definition. From
a natural face to a glamorous face, there are so many different types of ways
to show beauty. Makeup is a way for the world to come together and show that
there is more than one way to express yourself. Today’s makeup routine is going
to be an everyday makeup look. This is something that every girl needs to know.
Whether for going to school or going to work, it is simple but elegant.
Let’s
get started!
Wash
To start this makeup look
off, you need to have a clean face. Any face wash will work but I use St. Ives
green tea scrub. Every face is different so pick the face wash that works best
for the type of skin you have.
Prime It
After your face is clean and dry, apply either
face primer or moisturizer to prime the face so the foundation will go on
smoother and stay longer. I use moisturizer as my primer because it makes my
skin feel more breathable after applying the foundation. St. Ives timeless skin
has worked best for me. It doesn’t leave an oily finish on the skin.
Foundation Time
Once the moisturizer has
dried completely, apply the foundation. I recommend that going to a beauty
store to match your perfect skin color and ask what is best for your type of
skin. I have oily skin, so I use MAC studio fix full coverage liquid
foundation. When applying this foundation, either use a foundation brush or
sponge depending on what kind of finish that you are looking for. A makeup
brush leaves more of a brushed finish and doesn’t use as much of the foundation
as a sponge would. A makeup sponge leaves a flawless finish and it soaks up all
the foundation to apply it evenly on the skin. For the everyday look, I use the
brush because it makes the makeup not look so caked on the skin as a sponge
would.
Conceal It
Once the foundation is evenly applied,
concealer is needed to get what the foundation had missed. Concealer is used
under the eyes and on the T-zone of the face to make those areas appear lighter
than the rest of the face. When using concealer, you want to have a shade or
two lighter than what you use for foundation because it will highlight the
areas of the T-zone that is wanted.
Ready, Set, Action!
After all the liquid is applied to the face,
it is time to set everything. When setting the face, it is best to use a
translucent loose powder. This will give a matte finish without looking to
cakey. I use Sephora translucent powder. It’s a light powder that
doesn’t deprive the skin of oxygen. Some people only apply powder to certain
parts of the face but when doing an everyday look, I recommend applying the
powder to the whole face. This will give the face a cleaner look to it.
Finishing the Look
Once everything is set,
there are only a few more steps to this process to make your face look simply
beautiful! The easiest way to finish the face off is to get mascara, an
eyeshadow palette, and an eyebrow pencil. Just three things and you are
finished.
Eyebrows
The first thing that I do
is fill in my eyebrows. I don’t have thick ones so I fill mine in more than
someone who has thick eyebrows would. Any eyebrow pencil would work but I use Maybelline
Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil because it has a brush on the opposite
end to even out the color. If you lighter hair, use a shade darker eyebrow
color. If you have dark hair, use a shade lighter eyebrow color. This will add
definition to the brows and make them pop more.
Three in One
When your eyebrows have
been filled in, take your eyeshadow palette out. I use my eyeshadow palette as
my blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow all in one.
Blush
First, I start with the
blush. This is applied to the cheek bones. When doing an everyday look, just a
small amount of blush is needed. This is to make the cheeks look rosy. The
color blush you use depends on what color skin you have. I have darker skin, so
I mix the bottom two colors on the left and apply that with a blush brush.
Highlight
Next, with a different brush, I take the top
left color and put it on where I had applied earlier. This add more definition
to the concealer. After the blush and highlighter is applied, it is time for
the last two steps to complete this look!
Eyeshadow
Choosing eyeshadow colors
also depends on the color that your eye is. The easiest colors to use that
match most eye colors are browns. This will make blue and green eyes stand out
but also make brown eyes get more defined. When applying eyeshadow, I use the same
brush for all of it. Start with a neutral color to cover the whole eye lid. I
use the middle color on the far left to do this. Then, in your eye crease, take
a lighter shade of brown to define the crease. Then, take a darker shade of
brown and go over the bottom part of the lid. Once all the eyeshadow colors are
applied, wipe the brush off. Use that brush to blend in the colors to make a
more natural smoky eye.
Mascara
and Go!
One more step and you are
done! Take a mascara of your choosing and apply it to your lashes. I use
Sephora length and volume mascara to give me both for more dimension. You are
all set to step outside and feel beautiful but natural! All that’s left is to
add your favorite lip glass or chap stick and off you go.

Leaving
on a High Note!
This is everything that you need to know when applying
makeup to your face for an everyday makeup look. Some thing to remember are
everyone’s face and skin is different so use brands that are for your skin
type. Always make sure your face is clean before applying any makeup to it so
no bacteria will get clogged into your pores from the foundation. Don’t use
your hands to apply makeup because the oils on your hands will mess with the
oils in the makeup. This can cause breakouts and irritated skin. Lastly, never
be afraid to try new things and be bold with makeup but if you’re just looking
for an everyday look then this tutorial will be your best friend!
